3rd Arts Therapies "Students Conference" – Barcelona, July 2008

Greetings!

We have the great joy of announcing the 3rd Art Therapy "Students Conference" 2008 that will take place the 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th of July in Barcelona.

The "Students Conference" is an International Arts Therapies Students Encounter. It emerged of the students need of getting together to talk and share about their different and common experiences in their careers and jobs. The first encounter took place in Ottersberg, Germany, two years ago and last year is was held in Amersfoort, Holland.

This year’s "Students Conference" is the initiative of the 3rd Edition Dance Therapy Master’s students, with the support of participants of last year’s encounters and the support of the Institut for Life Long Learning of the Universitat de Barcelona (IL3-U.B).

Participation modalities

During the 4 days of the "Students Conference", different workshops and conferences will be dictated by students and teachers of different disciplines. There will be two workshop modalities: Theoretical-practical movement based experiences and workshops based on field-work memories, research, thesis, clinical cases, etc.

Other activities held during those 4 days will be: Cine Forum, discussions about the practical incidence of the Art Therapies in society and in professional spaces, concrete action planning as well as Dance, Music, Theater and Art performances.

Due to the increase of multi-cultural phenomenon -Barcelona is a good example of this!-, this year we propose to pay special attention to the Social Action theme. To achieve this, we are planning specific interventions of Students Conferences participants in Barcelona city, and we are extending the invitation of the Encounter to Public Institutions and people responsible of Public actions.

As well as informing you of the "Students Conference", with this letter we would like to invite you to collaborate with us. There are various ways of doing so: making us propaganda with your colleagues, friends and with institutions you think would be interested in an experience like this one, your own participation in the Students Conference and sharing your experience in a Conference or Workshop for example and sponsoring us in case you are an Institution.
