| Abstract: | The aim of this case study is to improve the self confidence of a mentally retarded patient by writing a story. This story had two functions for this patient. Firstly, the patient worked on his identity and on his ‘self’. Secondly, the patient could make a product and gain a successful experience. The effects have been measured by observing the client. The client dealt with some of his childhood experiences and (re)constructed a part of his self. Writing a story with this client contributed to the fact that he could generate more selfconfidence by developing a part of his self |
