Course Title: Arts therapies with creative social rehabilitation

 

This is a new specialization in the field of PEDAGOGY: Arts therapies with creative social rehabilitation for MA degree students.

Duration:

five semesters (2,5 years) extramural, 154 ECTS credits
 

Entry Requirements:

BA or MA in one of the following fields of study: education (pedagogy), psychology, educational sciences, social sciences.
 

Admission procedure:

Arts Therapies with creative social rehabilitation is a course dedicated to students who are active in the field of arts, who recognize their therapeutic dimension and are willing to combine them with pedagogical activities for prevention and social rehabilitation (resocialization).

The offer is aimed at undergraduates in the fields of humanities and social sciences, whose interest is in arts and who can prove their work in an admission portfolio and at an interview.

The portfolio should comprise samples of current work / artistic activities such as photography, painting, video films or recordings of music compositions, renditions, theatre performances, etc. The samples should demonstrate the artistic skills of applicants, their ability to make expression through their art and the capacity to engage in the process of the development of arts.

The next stage of the application procedure for the specialization of Arts therapies with creative social rehabilitation is an interview with the qualifying board who examine applicant’s interests, career plans, pedagogical and arts therapeutic experience, expectations and requirements concerning the chosen course.

 

Course Philosophy and Main Theoretical Approaches:

Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow is the only university in Poland that is a member of the European Consortium for Arts Therapies Education (ECArTE). The course has the recommendation of the Polish Arts Therapists Association, Kajros.

The graduates will have gained theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for designing arts therapies activities – creating and implementing multidisciplinary developmental, preventive and therapeutic programmes in areas where psycho-pedagogical intervention is required.

The programme has been officially approved by the Faculty Council Board in the Faculty of Education at Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow.

Language: all modules on the course are taught in Polish
