TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Travel from the Airport
Krakow has one airport: Saint John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice, which is situated on the outskirts of the city, some 14 km west of the centre.
Travel from the airport to the city centre:
BUS: (approximately 25 to 35 minutes)
Buses run frequently from the airport to the city centre. Tickets are available either from the ticket machine next to the information point in the passenger terminal or on the bus. Be sure to stamp tickets immediately after boarding to avoid fines.
Please note that you will be required to purchase an additional ticket for any baggage larger than a rucksack.
A journey to the city centre should cost approximately 70 PLN.
If you wish, you can book a taxi, in advance, on the internet. A number of agencies offer this service.
Perhaps the most convenient option from the airport (INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT KRAKOW-BALICE) to the city centre (KRAKÓW GŁÓWNY) is a special train which runs every 30 minutes. This connecting service runs every 30 minutes from 4am until midnight.
Tickets can be purchased on the train. The platform is approximately 200 metres from the passenger terminal. A free shuttle bus is available to the platform.
